Bryan

Bryan Mahoney

Partner & Developer

Bio

With 15 years of web development under his belt, Bryan is always pretty evenly split between client facing tasks and writing code. He does it all, from business development, project planning and consulting, to writing code for Dynamo’s various applications. Forever the entrepreneur, Bryan loves working with startups to help them realize their goals just as much as he loves his Dynamo projects. Bryan keeps the studio buzzing with his contagious energy, positive outlook, and supreme wine buying abilities.

The best team in the biz, hands down.

I'd be trying to grow grapes.

Alix

Alix Graham-Tremblay

Project Manager

Bio

Lucky for us, after a long stint as assistant coordinator in the film industry, Alix made the crossover to project manager here at Dynamo. If you need someone to oversee every detail of a project, estimate costs, establish timelines and milestones, manage team members, create statistical reports, or bake you apple pie muffins from scratch, Alix is your gal.

Best way to start the day at the office:
Successfully making a good latte

Daniel

Daniel Wright

Developer

Bio

With 13 years of professional experience in development, Daniel’s expertise now covers a lot of ground. He specializes in front-end UI/ UX matters, but can be let loose on a back-end project with low risk. He’s even dabbled in HTML/CSS/JS, and is always working to improve his craft and expand his role. However, it’s been said that one of his most significant roles at Dynamo is actually his job as office barista. This web guru makes one mean latté.

Playlist:
A Genius mix based on Bloc Party, Derek & the Dominoes, Blue Sky Black Death, Led Zeppelin, Kid Koala, The Who, Armin van Buuren

Foosball nicknames:
Opponents are too scared of his skills (or of his temper?) to give him individual nicknames but he has forged many unstoppable teams including the Huguetoes (with Corey) and the Invincibles (with Magda).

Currently reading:
Growing Object Oriented Software, Guided by Tests (Steve Freeman, Nat Pryce); Let the Right One In (John Lindqvist).

Simon

Simon Walsh

Front End Developer

Bio

After a brief detour into the world of law practice, Simon decided to go back to his geeky roots. He left his native Quebec City's winter wonderland and moved to Montreal, where he is now a front-end developer stuck in a love triangle between code, design and UX... And tries his best to keep it all working! When not hacking on some scripts or declaring some styles at Dynamo or riding his bike to a local café, this soccer fanatic can be found around town kicking some shins and scoring a goal from time to time.

What's currently on your playlist:
A lot of deep house, some indie music and a bit of funk. Also classics like Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull. Recently playing Darkside's Psychic in loop.

If I wasn't doing this:
I'd be really super sad, because I enjoy what I do very much. Gun to the head though, I'd try my hand at architecture or engineering.

What's your life mantra?
To eat an elephant, you must cut it in little pieces.

Jenna is a graphic designer and art director with over seven years of experience in print, digital, brand strategy, retail, packaging, advertising and copywriting. She specializes in branding and loves the chance to work with a company from the ground up to shape each aspect of the brand experience. She'll swear to you she's not a 'design nerd' but we know the truth. Four years ago, she was hanging out in South Philadelphia when everything went black. She woke up in Montréal with a new hairdo and a zest for French lemonade.

He specializes in analyzing and upgrading processes for content development and using different media and web analytics to enable the successful delivery of content to targeted audiences. When he is not at Dynamo, he might be found in one of Montreal's libraries, going through one of his "must-read" books, playing soccer with Corey or trying a new recipe at his place.

Alex has over 12 years of experience in the industry and is responsible for guiding some of our biggest clients to success over these years. He’s funnelled his vast knowledge bank into specializing in User Experience, User Flow and Digital Design. Behind his lumberjack beard lies a razor sharp wit and a keen eye for detail. This winning combination plays a vital role in the development and growth of each campaign and project that comes through the studio. When he's not scrupulously reenacting SNL skits, Alex is preoccupied with keeping the studio at the forefront of an industry travelling at light speed.

Bio

Rodrigo’s endless enthusiasm and hard work have propelled him quickly in the field of web development and we’re proud to say that he’s already been a huge player at Dynamo, with a heavy hand in some of our first responsive websites including this one. He specializes in layout integration, coding (HTML, CSS, JS/JQuery) and responsive web development. Upon arrival at Dynamo, he quickly took over as resident DJ and overall music evangelist. And we’re happy to report that he’s finally abandoned his illegal foosball moves.

My music tastes are... eclectic! My favorite band is Opeth, a Swedish progressive metal band from Stockholm, Sweden. But I won't live without Pink Floyd, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, The Black Keys, Portishead, Led Zeppelin.... I currently have 10,182 songs in my iTunes library, that's 30.5 days in case I'm stuck on a desert island, with enough juice to power my iPhone.

What's your life mantra?
I don't think I really had any... but Monty Python's 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life' would be a good one to start with.

With over 50 professional projects and a decade of software engineering practice, he is sure to take your next software project home. David also has a 2 year old daughter who learned how to use the iPad at only 10 months old. Beckii

Beckii Adel

Junior Graphic Designer

Bio

You're probably wondering about the two i's in her name. That's your first insight into her unique abilities as a graphic & web designer. Beckii’s malleable personality is two-fold: a rigorous work ethic complimented alongside a dynamic design vision. She likes to live with a glass-half-full mantra, and the colour coral internalizes the inside of her bright and bubbly mind. When presented with a challenge a creative door opens up for Beckii to push the conventional, create energy, take risks, and ride the momentum of a visually endearing idea.

Best thing about working at Dynamo:
Being surrounded by people who are just as crazy as I am.

What's your life mantra?
You can do anything you set your mind to.

If I wasn't doing this I'd be:

Corey

Corey Pomkoski

Project Manager

Bio

Today, Corey is our resident Project Manager, though over the past six years he’s worn many hats here at Dynamo including account manager, team supervisor, and director of human resources. We trust Corey to have the answers to all of our pressing questions (i.e. where's the milk?) with a phone in one hand and his fourth coffee in the other. When he's not busy entertaining us with his one one man synchronized swimming routine, he can be found obsessively tracking the snowfall on Jay Peak.

Best thing about working at Dynamo:
The room here to grow, while staying true to yourself is second-to-none. I wouldn't change the past 6 years for anything.

Foosball Nickname:
Red Beard One

Bio

Guillaume “Boris” is our Front End Developer from across the Atlantic. With four years experience in Front End integration, Rails and Wordpress programming and Emails, he is an integral part of the Dynamo team. After two years of battling the Montreal winters, Guillaume decided to go back to the baguette-filled shores of southern France. Fortunately for us he still graces us with his virtual presence and dreams up appropriate pranks to play on Corey.

His professional background and creative work ethic allows him to crackerjack his way across numerous tasks at Dynamo. From business development and strategy to winning foosball matches without “spinning”, John strives for change, challenge and success at everything that comes his way. John does what he must to ensure that smiles are abundant throughout the studio.

If I wasn't doing this:
I’d be a yoga instructor by day and EDM DJ by night.

Unbeknownst fact:
Along his path of trying to become a movie director, John won two short-film contests and has directed numerous music videos - true story!

By far, each and every one of my Dyna-peeps. Wow, what a team of creative and awesomely cool people.

Nicolas

Nicolas Charlery

Developer

Bio

Nicolas has four years in development, two of each specializing in Java and GWT. He finally made the switch to Ruby after realising how it brings fun back to coding. He's also had the chance to experiment with Agile through test-driven development, pair programming, kanban and weekly retrospectives, while working in a small team with almost no management layer. This experience changed him forever both as a coder and a team player.

Best thing about working at Dynamo:
Its "Remoteness".

If I wasn't doing this I'd be:
An agronomist.

Life mantra:
"Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better." - Samuel Beckett

Braden

Braden Douglass

Developer

Bio

After a long stint at a PHP centered startup in the American South, Braden felt like his Ruby skills were in serious "regression mode" and knew Dynamo would be his catalyst. Having learned the language as a method to stay awake while studying all night for the LSATs; Braden realized that he loved Ruby much more than the thought of becoming a lawyer. Prior to that, he dabbled in design, Python, and iOS development. He spends his nights relaxing with his francophile wife, scribbling in small notebooks, and helping build a local Startup Foundry and Coworking roost. Now, he has made it his mission to give all to the Dynamo team and be a productive and brilliant player.

What's your life mantra?
At every turn, look to swap selection with quality.

Best thing about working at Dynamo:
The people, hands down. Never would I have imagined I would get a chance to work with such amazing people.

If I wasn't doing this I'd be:
Olympic Lifting or Cooking.

Kevin

Kevin Hough

Developer

Bio

After several years in business analytics and digital project management, Kevin developed a keen interest in hands-on software engineering. He traded in his Gantt charts for a text editor, and thus Dynamo's next Ruby engineer was born. When he's not slinging code, Kevin likes to scope out new hobbies, eat chocolate, write music, go for walks, philosophize, and pretend to speak French.
